Spitfires' Pro40 clash rained off
Printable version Email to a friend Share this story Add your comment Contact us
The Kent Spitfires' missed out on a chance to practice their limited overs skills as their first Pro40 game of the season was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Rob Key's side were due to play the Glamorgan Dragons at Cardiff on Tuesday, but heavy rain at Sophia Gardens left the umpires with no alternative than to call the game off, awarding a point to each side.

The Spitfires were hoping to use the game to get in some practice with the white ball ahead of Monday's Twenty20 Cup quarter-final with the Durham Dynamos at Canterbury.

The attention now turns to that crunch clash at St Lawrence and with the club having already sold 5,000 tickets, it promises to be a big occasion.
