A huge blaze has broken out on the Medway City Estate, forcing police to set up an emergency cordon around a burning workshop.

Firefighters were called to the single storey building in Neptune Close, Strood, at 8.41am.

They found an acetylene cylinder – containing large volumes of flammable gas - alight.

More than 30 firefighters are currently working to bring the blaze under control.

Nearby buildings and business have been evacuated.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
