On screen, on line and on the move with Apple iPhone and now iPad apps
KOS Media has launched its new app for the Apple iPad, a first for a regional newspaper in Britain.

The much-hyped iPad, a tablet computer with a nine-inch screen, has offered a new way for people to read their news since it was released by Apple two months ago.

Paul Stannard, managing director of KOS Media said: “As soon as we knew the iPad was set for release, we began working on an app with our developers PageSuite.

“I am extremely pleased with the new app and it will offer huge advantages to our readers who have access to one.”

The iPad app launch follows the success of KOS Media’s news app for the Apple iPhone last year.

The company was the first regional media group to give iPhone users access to its news in this way.

Both apps can be downloaded free from Apple’s App Store. As well as all the latest news, views and sport affecting the county of Kent, it also allows users to search for jobs, a home and a car and even see the full e-edition of one of the 16 different KOS Media newspapers.

KOS Media is a division of Archant Regional following its acquisition earlier this year.

It is not only Apple phone and tablet computer users who can get their news on the move, Nokia phone users can also download the Kent News app and a Kent Golf app direct from Nokia’s Ovi Store.
