Police appeal after driver injured in car crash

A transit van driver suffered a suspected broken jaw in a multiple car crash on a busy Rainham road.

The motorist collided with a Ford Fiesta and a parked van in Mierscourt Road between 3pm and 5pm on Monday, August 17.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

Police investigating the collision would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the white transit van in the area of Kenilworth Road prior to the collision, or anyone who witnesses the incident take place. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 01634 792504.

A 20-year-old man from Gillingham was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and drink driving. 

He has been released on bail until tomorrow.
