LORDSWOOD FC host the Kent Football League Annual General Meeting tonight, with a decision expected on whether to elect Norton Sports to the Premier Division.
The Swale side won the County League Premier Division last season. A lack of facilities at their Norton Park home prevent them from hosting Kent League games but a ground share with Herne Bay at Winch’s Field has been agreed in principle.
The remaining 16 teams in the division will vote on the matter, with Norton replacing promoted Thamesmead Town if successful.
Other matters to be decided will be next season’s constitution and any rule changes which may apply.
The league has also announced the opening round of fixtures in the Premier Division will be on Saturday, August 9. Division One and Two will begin a fortnight later.
The traditional curtain raiser to the season, the Challenge Shield between league champions Thamesmead and cup winners Erith Town, will be played on Saturday, August 2.
