GILLINGHAM boss Mark Stimson could return to his old club Stevenage Borough once again to strengthen his side over the summer.
Local reports in Hertfordshire linked Gills with Borough’s first choice goalkeeper Alan Julian.
With Kelvin Jack released earlier this week and Derek Stillie retiring, Gills have only teenager Chris Kiely as cover for first choice stopper Simon Royce.
Signing another goalkeeper will be high on Stimson’s transfer priorities and Julian could be a suitable understudy to Royce.
The 25-year-old made 44 appearances this season as Borough just missed out on a place in the Conference play-offs.
The Comet newspaper reports Julian was put on the transfer list by previous manager Peter Taylor after a contract offer was unsigned.
Stimson has made a habit of buying players from his former club, with Adam Miller, John Nutter, Stuart Lewis and Barry Fuller all following him to Priestfield.
