Ebbsfleet United finally got their season up and running as they beat Eastbourne Borough to win their first game of the season.

New signing Simon Thomas grabbed a dramatic late winner with a deflected shot in stoppage time. Magno Viera had earlier given Liam Daish’s side the lead, but the game looked to be heading for a draw when the home side equalised midway through the second half.

Fleet remain in the bottom four but will hope to have turned a corner ahead of Saturday’s home game against Oxford United.

Dover Athletic remain on top of the Blue Square South after a comfortable 2-0 win against Welling United. Goals in the first half from Sammy Moore and Lee Browning put the Whites in charge, with Andy Ford’s side offering relatively little in attack.

Dover, who are yet to taste defeat this season, lead the division on goal difference, while Welling are 16th. Bromley moved up to eighth with a 3-0 win at home to Lewes.

Dartford stayed top of the Ryman Premier with a 2-0 win away to AFC Hornchurch. Lee Burns and Elliot Bradbrook were on target for the Darts, who are three points clear of the pack.

Tonbridge Angels are third after a 3-2 win at home to Ashford Town (Middlesex). All the goals came in the second half, with Carl Rook netting the winner with a last minute penalty.

James Pinnock scored the only goal of the game as Maidstone United won away at Canvey Island to end the Essex side’s unbeaten start to the campaign. Cray Wanderers also won on their travels, with Tommy Tyne’s first half strike enough to beat Margate.

Only goal difference separates Folkestone Invicta from the top of the Ryman South table. The Seasiders won 1-0 for the fourth successive game, with Michael Yianni’s stoppage time strike sealing a win at Burgess Hill.

Ramsgate are up to third with a 3-0 win away to Corinthian-Casuals. Gary Mickelborough netted a brace and Warren Schulz was also on target for Jim Ward’s side.

In the Kent League, Beckenham Town went top of the table with a 2-1 win against Greenwich Borough 2-1, while Elstrom Die hit a hat-trick to give Fisher their first win of the season – 3-1 against Erith & Belvedere.

Tonight sees the FA Cup preliminary round ties which finished level on Saturday:
